LOVE HURTS – A LOT

Big Ron has been a rock hard man all his life. Prison, drugs, gangs – he knows it all. Take, take, and take. Now he’s on the other side of the battle. Father brought little Rick across his path. The light went on. Now Rick lives under Ron’s wing. I’m on the phone with him now. He’s in tears. He just talked to Rick and his mom 2 hours on the phone. Rick is not doing well – and it’s breaking his heart. No amount of pain in the world would pull tears out of him. Not being beaten s a child. Not being alone in the world from age 9 on. Not being in prison or being the heavyweight boxing champion of a max security prison. Nothing until Rick took up residence in his soul. Mike has been captured by a love he never knew existed or that thought he could be capable of. Mike’s soul has risen from the dead and stands out in all its Easter glory. In the boy the man has a second chance at all the years the locust has eaten. Love is amazing. But love hurts. Sometimes a lot.
